Oscar Pistorius, a South African athlete with two artificial legs below the knee is trying to get himself qualified for the Olympics. Not the Paralympics, but the regular Olympics. The commission tried to get him disqualified claiming the bounce in his artificial running prothesis gives him a mechanical advantage, but the way it looks now, he will be allowed to participate if he can place himself.

It was on the news. To see him run was amazing and he was way ahead of his competition. A Dutch athlete who has one similar running prothesis demonstrated for the camera that the bounce in the artificial foot is strong but that her other, normal leg could match it nicely, disproving the claim that it could be an "advantage".

There is a fly in my house. Just one. It has been flying around in here for a day or two.

It is the non-buzzing kind, not one of those filthy obese monsters, but still, irritating.

I pride myself in being a good fly swatter.

The fly was sitting on my sink just now. Washing its hands.

I tried to catch it with a glass. I can't kill something that washes its hands.

It is probably laughing at me now, while it whizzes past my ears.
